Transerv – Robert
Thomson of Transerv was unable to attend the meeting but would
come along to the next meeting. Donald mentioned
the problem of people overtaking when cars are turning in at Shiel
Shop and that it should also be mentioned to Transerv, (suggestion
of double yellow lines down the centre of the road).
Chairman’s Report & Correspondence
Ratagan Pool – thanks from Helen Robertson
for the donation towards the solar matting for the pool.
Visitors signage – a letter had been received
from HC re. iconic viewpoints in the Highlands which were lacking
interpretative signage.
The viewpoint at Ratagan pass, overlooking the Five Sisters, had
been highlighted and the views of the community council were sought.
Everyone was very supportive and Carr Brae and Clachan Duich were
also suggested. Marina to respond.
Matters Arising
Septic tanks – some had seen publicity about
fee being waivered for registering septic tanks until 31 May. Suggestion
that posters
be made, but subsequent article/advertising appeared in WHFP so no
need.
Woodlands – matter now closed as far as the
scope of the community council is concerned.
Goats – there were mixed views about the goats
and whether they were a real problem or not.
Water environment – SEPA meetings in Thurso
and Inverness. Berwyn to investigate if ther is to be a meeting on
the west coast.
AOCB
Skip requests – further community skip requested,
for Carn Gorm.
Police matters – police to be in attendance
at Ward Forum on 29 June in Dornie Hall. Issues of concern include
the mis-use of
disabled parking in Kyle. Berwyn to attend.
Recycling bins – going well.
Clachan Duich – request to speak to Mark Crowe
at Highland Council re. spaces at Clachan Duich. Marina to pursue.
