Minutes of previous meeting were approved.
Chairman’s
Report
Carr Bare Mast – it had proven difficult
to get more information on work that was to be done on the mast,
with delays in delivery
of parts from Germany.
Digital TV - Berwyn had, however, found a contact in satellite installation
and would try and invite him to a future meeting so that he can confirm
what is possible in this area.
Matters Arising
Co-option – It was suggested that Ian Ross
be co-opted onto the Community Council. This was proposed by Berwyn
and seconded by
Jayne. Others were suggested as possibilities for co-option and were
put on hold for now.
Planning – Marina
confirmed that her contact at planning had started to send through
the weekly planning application list and
would send more detailed plans where required.
Transerv – still
no response despite repeated correspondence.
AOCB
Old Folks Bus – Teens enquired about the current arrangements
for the old folk’s bus service from Glenelg to Kyle. Marina
agreed to contact John Angus Maclean for information.
Tescos –discussion
as to whether or not there was support for plans for Tesco to come
to Portree. Everyone felt that there
was need for competition, but it was agreed that this topic would
be best revisited once we find out whether or not a Lidls is approved
for Portree.
Community Council representation –there
was a need for a correspondent from the Letterfearn end of the
Community Council area. This individual
would not need to come to meetings but could email relevant Letterfearn/Ratagan/Totaig
issues to the Community Council as and when they arose. Marina agreed
to approach a couple of folks.
