Minutes of previous meeting were approved.
Recycling
Berwyn welcomed Phil Dewar from Highland Council who gave presentation
on Recycling. Phil focussed on the new kerbside recycling arrangements
which will come to the Loch Duich area early in 2009. Blue bins
- for paper, glass, tins and types 1& 2 plastic (primarily
drinks bottles) – will be delivered to each address and will
be collected once every four weeks.
Chairman’s Report & Correspondence
Digital TV – Following correspondence with
Charles Kennedy, Berwyn was in touch with contact re. Digital TV
and was trying to
arrange a date for a presentation on how the new digital TV arrangements
will affect our area. (Details of meeting to be confirmed.)
Erskine Homes (ex-servicemen) – presentation
on 3 Dec, Inverness. Berwyn may attend.
Matters Arising
Transerv – Transerv workers had been spotted examining the
holes in the footpaths but no action so far. Marina awaiting response
from new Transerv contact – Andy Fraser.
Over 60s & Bonfire night parties – Both
events had been a success and were enjoyed by all.
Travelling Expenses – In line with Highland
Council rates, a rate of 42 pence per mile was agreed for representing
Community
Council at meetings, events etc.
WHFP Xmas greetings – it was agreed that rates
for a Xmas greeting in the WHFP, from the Community Council, were
prohibitive and money
would be better spent elsewhere. Donald to send Xmas greeting to
Liz for website and posters for Shiel Shop, Petrol station etc.
Scottish Water – Scottish Water had assured
people that they should have no concerns about the chloramination
plans for the water
supply.
Septic tank – concerns had been raised about
the Septic tank at Woodlands, Shiel Bridge. Marina was asked to write
SEPA to find
out more.
AOCB
A82 trunk road – Berwyn was impressed by leaflet campaign and
webiste petition, which concentrated on the section of the road which
is south of Fort William. Marina was asked to write JF Munro and
Stewart Stevenson, supporting the campaign and highlighting the need
for ‘our’ part of the A82 being upgraded as well.
Skip – a skip was requested for Glebe Road.
Marina to arrange asap.
Website – hostings due to be paid. Renewals fees (£10)
to be paid in line with calendar year - due January 2009.
Kids Christmas Party - £250 donation was agreed.

The next meetings will be on Thurs 15th Jan and Thurs 26th Feb 2009.
