Minutes of previous meeting were approved.
Police Issues
Marina had been informed that an officer would attend at future meeting when
possible.
Correspondence
Letter of thanks – had been received from
the Ratagan Pool committee.
Matters Arising
Leachachan Roadsign – this had been rectified
and a roadsign was in place.
Website – Donald confirmed that the community
website was working well. There had been 950 hits in two months
and two new advertisers had been signed up. Marina agreed to
remind Alasdair Earnshaw about including more school information
(eg. the newsletter) when the new term resumed.
Community Bus Run – Marina would contact
John Angus MacLena about getting copies of the bus timetable
for displaying in the noticeboards.
Retiral of Mrs Jackie Sheddan – the celebration
in Kintail Hall had gone well and the contribution from the Community
Council was much appreciated
Skip – a skip for Forestry Cottages, Inverinate
was on order.
Minutes of meetings – it was agreed that
minutes would be produced within a week of the meeting and displayed
with ‘as yet unapproved’ across the top of the page.
Any Other Business
Rural Home Ownership Scheme – after discussion
it was agreed that clarification was needed about this scheme
and what it involved. Berwyn agreed to find out more and report
back.
OFCOM – a response had been received.
Carr Brae Mast: it appeared that
the Carr Brae mast would be compatible for transfer to digital.
Berwyn had ascertained that the Estate had an assessor coming
to check the mast to see what would be required for changing
the system over.
Ratagan Relay Mast: it appeared
to be unlikely that the Ratagan mast would be suitable for digital
unless a significant amount of money was spent on it. The Community
Council would be unable to pay for this.
Once the Estate had seen the assessor’s report and decided what to do,
Berwyn would produce a list of options for circulating round the households
affected.
Graham House – Edna Wood had been in touch
with Berwyn. The importance of keeping Graham House and the needs
of the elderly in the area in high profile was stressed again.
Inverinate Hall Committee – The recent
AGM had shown that the hall was running short of people interested
in keeping it running. Current committee members had agreed to
stay in post only until November. If no replacements were found
by then, the closure of the Hall would be a distinct possibility. Everyone
present was urged to encourage folks in the community, and particularly
representatives from the various hall user groups, to come forward
and volunteer for the hall committee ASAP.
